Irelands Maurice Ward expands in central Europe

The Maurice Ward Manufacturing Division, part of the overall Maurice ward group, is expanding in central Europe with new facilities in the Czech Republic and Hungary.

Managing director John Temple told European Plastics News the company is investing €600,000 in a new unit in Most, the Czech Republic, which will manufacture and repair moulds for the plastics injury, and about €1m in an injection moulding facility in Hungary.

The Czech Republic unit will open in September and will supply central European countries, specifically the Czech Republic, Hungary and Slovenia. The Hungary plant is expected to start up next year and will supply automotive OEMs in the region, he said.
